Cloudland Canyon State Park Overlook
The main overlook platform juts out over Cloudland Canyon’s dramatic limestone walls, offering a straight-down view into the 1,000-foot gorge carved by Sitton Gulch Creek. Two waterfalls cascade down the far wall during wet seasons, and the layered rock formations tell the story of ancient sea floors. The viewing area is paved and accessible, but the real show is the raw canyon wilderness stretching north toward Lookout Mountain.
Located in northwest Georgia near the Alabama border, it’s easily accessed via GA-136. The overlook stays open dawn to dusk, and there’s a small parking area that fills quickly on fall weekends when the hardwood colors peak. Perfect stop when running the Pine Mountain Ridge trails or heading to/from Alabama Hills country.
