Camping Municipal San Rafael
This municipal campground sits along the Río Diamante just outside San Rafael’s town center. Gravel sites accommodate everything from small tents to large motorhomes, with basic facilities including pit toilets, cold showers, and fire rings. The campground fills up during harvest season (March-April) when wine tourists flock to the region. Sites are first-come, first-served with a small nightly fee.
The location makes it a solid base for exploring the nearby Canyon del Atuel and accessing the backcountry trails toward the Andes foothills. The campground can get noisy on weekends with Argentine families, but midweek it’s usually quiet. No reservations accepted – arrive early during peak season.
