Burns — Buchanan’s Fuel and Resupply
Burns, Oregon is the hub town for the whole southeast Oregon overland circuit. Multiple fuel stations on US-20 and Hines Road — Safeway, a True Value hardware, and several restaurants give you a genuine resupply window before the long run south toward Frenchglen, Fields, or east toward Jordan Valley. Cell service is full here, which makes it a good place to download offline maps and check road conditions with the BLM Burns District office just outside town.
The BLM Burns District Field Office on US-20 west of town is worth a five-minute stop — staff know current road conditions on Steens Mountain Loop Road, Diamond Craters, and the Owyhee country. Tank up, call your contacts, grab ice, and push on. It’s 60 miles to Frenchglen from here with nothing in between.
Last full resupply before the Oregon Outback.
