Burke Lake Park Campground
County-run campground with 150 sites ranging from basic tent spots to full hookup RV pads. Most sites are wooded with decent spacing, though you’ll hear traffic noise from nearby roads. Lake access for fishing and non-motorized boats, plus decent trail network around the water. Bathhouses with hot showers and a camp store for basics. Popular with families, so expect kids and noise during summer weekends.
Reservations recommended March through October. Park gates close at dark, so no late arrivals without advance notice. Close enough to DC for emergency resupply runs, but far enough out to feel like camping. Good base camp for exploring northern Virginia trails.
