BLM Wind River Breaks Dispersed Area
Expansive dispersed camping area spread across rolling sage hills and colorful badland formations north of the Wind River. Multiple access points lead to scattered camping spots that can handle everything from tent campers to big rigs. Area features interesting geology with red and white striped rock formations, fossil hunting opportunities, and massive western views. Wind can be brutal — bring extra tent stakes.
Access from multiple county roads, most suitable for any vehicle in dry conditions but become slick nightmare when wet. No shade, water, or facilities of any kind. Popular with antelope hunters in fall. Extreme fire danger most of summer — check restrictions before building fires.
