BLM Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area Dispersed Sites
Hungry Valley SVRA spans 19,000 acres of rolling hills and canyons with dispersed camping scattered throughout the OHV area. Sites range from exposed ridgetop spots with valley views to sheltered canyon camps near seasonal creeks. Popular with dirt bike and ATV riders, but plenty of room for overlanders seeking a base camp for exploring the Los Padres backcountry. Fire restrictions typically April through October.
Access via Hungry Valley Road from Gorman or Gold Hill Road from I-5. Roads are graded dirt but can get washboarded during busy weekends. No services or water — pack everything in. Best camping is away from the main OHV trails to avoid dust and noise from riders.
