BLM Las Vegas Field Office — Eldorado Valley Southern Flats Dispersed Camp
Eldorado Valley is a broad, arid basin southeast of Boulder City where BLM land opens up for dispersed camping across miles of hard-packed dirt and gravel flats. Creosote, Joshua trees, and distant ridgelines in every direction. No facilities, no fees, no signs — just pick a spot 150 feet off the road and you’re legal. It’s quiet out here most of the year, though weekenders from Vegas start filtering in on Friday afternoons. Fire restrictions kick in hard during summer — check the LV Field Office before you light anything.
Access is via Eldorado Valley Road or Nelson Road off US-95 south of Boulder City. High-clearance helps on the rougher two-tracks but most of the valley floor is passable in a stock truck. Cell coverage is spotty to nonexistent away from the highway. Best seasons are October through April — summer heat here is genuinely punishing and can top 110°F.
Mojave scrub flats at the BDR's southern end.
