BLM Coyote Flat Dispersed Area
Coyote Flat sprawls across several square miles of high desert at 3,200 feet, dotted with ancient Joshua trees and offering 360-degree views toward the Tehachapi Mountains. The area can handle 20+ rigs easily with natural spacing between sites, and you’ll find existing fire rings and stone windbreaks from decades of use. Popular with dirt bikers and stargazers — weekends can get busy but weekdays are typically quiet.
Access via Avenue D from Highway 14, then 4 miles of well-maintained dirt road suitable for any vehicle. Water and supplies available 12 miles south in Palmdale. Fire restrictions common May through October, and summer temps can hit 100+ degrees making spring and fall the sweet spots.
