Agate Beach Campground — Naikoon Provincial Park

Agate Beach sits right on the northern coastline of Graham Island, managed by BC Parks inside Naikoon Provincial Park. You’re camping on the edge of the continent here — raw, foggy, and genuinely remote. The campground has a handful of vehicle-accessible sites in a forested pull-through area just back from the beach, with pit toilets and fire rings. No hookups, no showers, no nonsense. Sites fill fast in July and August when kayakers, birders, and the occasional overlander converge. Ravens are loud. Bears are present. Hang your food.

Access is paved all the way from Masset via Tow Hill Road — one of the few campgrounds on Haida Gwaii you can reach without crawling a logging road. That said, the weather can shut everything down fast; this coast doesn’t mess around with wind and rain. Best season runs late May through September. Cell signal is essentially non-existent. Confirm current conditions with BC Parks before heading up.
