Fairplay — South Park Fuel and Full Resupply
Fairplay is the Park County seat and the primary resupply stop for anyone running Weston Pass Road from the South Park side. You’ll find a full-service grocery store, multiple fuel stations, propane, a hardware store, and a handful of cafes and diners. It’s a real working mountain town — not a tourist resort — so the vibe is low-key and practical. At 9,953 feet it already feels like altitude, which is worth noting if you’re coming up from the Front Range in a hurry.
The Weston Pass Road (FR 425) departs from US-285 just south of town. Stock up here — once you’re on the road there’s nothing until you drop into the Arkansas Valley at US-24. Cell service is decent in town but drops to nothing fast once you head west into the mountains. The historic Hand Hotel and the South Park City museum are legitimate stops if you’ve got an hour — the silver-era history here feeds directly into understanding what Weston Pass was built for.
Last fuel and groceries before the Mosquito Range.
