Arc Dome — Toiyabe Range Highpoint Summit Viewpoint

Arc Dome dominates the skyline above Kingston Canyon and the Reese River Valley. From any high point along the Toiyabe Crest Trail, this summit anchors your sense of place — a massive, rounded volcanic peak draped in bristlecone pine and subalpine meadow. It’s the reason overlanders and hikers push deep into this corner of the Great Basin. The summit plateau offers 360-degree views across central Nevada’s basin-and-range geography, with no roads above 10,000 feet nearby to dilute the isolation.

The peak sits inside the Arc Dome Wilderness boundary, so motorized access ends well below the summit. This is a viewpoint and staging reference for the Kingston Canyon approach. Elevation plays games with rigs and lungs alike — acclimate before you push hard on the trail. Snow lingers on the north slopes well into June.
