Sarhad-e Broghil — End of Road Village Guesthouse Camp

Established Campground

Sarhad-e Broghil is the terminus of motorable road in the Afghan Wakhan Corridor. Beyond here, the route to Broghil Pass into Pakistan becomes a track for horses and determined humans on foot. For overlanders, this village is the turnaround point and the final camp — a cluster of stone houses at roughly 3,250 meters where several households accept expedition teams as paying guests. Basic accommodation means a roof, a fire, and food if you arrange it in advance. Vehicle parking is in the open near the village center.

The drive from Qala-e Panja to Sarhad is the roughest section of the entire corridor — expect rocky river crossings, loose shale, and tight canyon walls. A full day minimum from Qala-e Panja for prepared 4WD rigs. No fuel, no cell signal, no helicopter landing pad nearby. This is genuine expedition territory. Permit requirements for this far into the corridor are strict — sort paperwork in Faizabad or Ishkashim before you leave.

End of the road. The Wakhan stops here.
