Drakensberg Garden Resort and its associated Ezemvelo-managed campsite sit at the foot of the southern Drakensberg, roughly 25km from Underberg and well within striking distance of the Sani Pass bottom gate. The camp has serviced ablution blocks, fire pits, and grassed pitches under mountain fynbos — it’s a proper developed camp, not wilderness dispersed. The access road from Underberg via Himeville is tarred most of the way, transitioning to gravel for the last stretch. High-clearance vehicles have an advantage on the final approach after heavy rain. The campsite is inside a Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife conservation area; your conservation fee covers the camp tariff or is bundled in — confirm current rates when booking.
