Lyndhurst Campground — Strzelecki Track Northern Flinders Gateway
Lyndhurst sits at the southern end of the Strzelecki Track and this campground is your final staging point before the bitumen disappears and the dirt begins. It’s a no-frills bush camp — flat, exposed, and red — with basic amenities including toilets and a couple of shaded spots near the pub. The Lyndhurst Hotel is right there and they’ve been fuelling and watering travellers heading north for decades. Get your tyres sorted, your tank full, and your water jerry cans topped here.
The campground is run in association with the hotel and local council. Access is straightforward on sealed road from Leigh Creek. This is the last sealed road you’ll see for a while — once you roll north, it’s corrugated dirt and gibber plains all the way to Innamincka. Confirm current conditions at the pub before departing.
Last sealed road camp before the Strzelecki Track.
