Dolgellau — Marian Mawr Fuel and Snowdonia Southern Resupply
Dolgellau sits where the A470 and A494 cross in southern Snowdonia, surrounded by the Cadair Idris massif and the Mawddach estuary. It’s an honest Welsh market town — stone buildings, narrow streets, no resort polish — and a genuine resupply point for routes heading into the Rhinogs, up to Blaenau Ffestiniog, or west toward Barmouth. Petrol is available in town. The Co-op handles groceries. There are a handful of pubs that serve food and a few B&Bs if you need a roof instead of a tent.
The town itself is tight for anything wider than a standard truck cab — long wheelbases and trailers need the outskirts. It’s the last fuel point before some seriously remote single-track terrain in multiple directions. Stock water here; wild sources in the surrounding hills are available but variable. Market days bring extra traffic through the narrow medieval street core.
Southern Snowdonia's last proper resupply.
