Newtonmore — A9 Cairngorms Gateway Fuel and Resupply
Newtonmore sits at the southern edge of the Cairngorms National Park proper, straddling the A9 and the River Spey. It’s a working Highland town — not a tourist trap — with a filling station, a Co-op, and basic services. Use it to top off fuel and food before turning onto the B9150 toward Laggan or pushing north toward Kingussie, Aviemore, and the high glens beyond. The Wildcat Trail trailhead is right here if you need to stretch your legs.
Fuel availability on the minor roads into the Cairngorms interior — Glenshee approach, Glenlivet, Corgarff direction — can be patchy. Don’t count on finding a pump once you leave the A9 corridor. Fill here, full stop.
Fill up before the glens swallow you.
