Kinloch Rannoch — Rannoch Moor Eastern Shore Resupply
Kinloch Rannoch sits at the foot of Loch Rannoch in highland Perthshire and is one of the last dependable resupply stops before the road thins out toward Rannoch Station and the moor opens up. There’s a petrol station, a general store, and a hotel bar that’ll serve you a plate of something hot. The village is small but functional — fuel up, grab food, and check your kit before pushing west.
The B846 running west from here is single-track with passing places and gets genuinely remote inside a few miles. Phone signal drops fast. Arrive in daylight if you’re unfamiliar with the road. The surrounding hills and lochside are popular with walkers in summer but the deep winter keeps most casual traffic away — moor conditions can be brutal from November through March.
Last fuel before the moor swallows the road.
