Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest — Salmon Meadows Campground
Salmon Meadows sits at around 5,500 feet in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, a handful of miles east of Conconully on Forest Road 38. It’s a small, peaceful camp — sites spread through open pine and fir with a meadow feel. About 7 sites, vault toilet, no water. It’s uncrowded even on summer weekends when the bigger campgrounds are packed. Good staging point if you’re pushing north toward Tiffany Lake or east into the Okanogan highlands.
Access via FR 38 out of Conconully is well-graded gravel — high-clearance 2WD handles it fine in dry conditions. Snow can linger into June at this elevation. No cell signal up here. Fire restrictions apply in summer — check with the Tonasket Ranger District before you roll in.
