Ethel Lake Territorial Campground — Silver Trail
Ethel Lake Territorial Campground is one of two lake camps on the Silver Trail spur north of Mayo, sitting in dense boreal forest on the east shore of Ethel Lake. Maintained pit toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, and a basic boat launch. It’s quieter than the highway camps and draws the kind of crowd that’s actually here for the fishing and the backcountry — grayling and lake trout in the water, Keno Hill road a short drive away. If you’re running the Mining Road to Keno City Summit route, this is your base camp.
Access is a gravel spur off the Silver Trail — any rig handles it fine. Water from the lake; treat it. No cell service. Open late May through early September. Note the Silver Trail itself past Stewart Crossing can develop serious washboard mid-summer — check with the Yukon highway hotline before heading out.
