Tatchun Lake Territorial Campground — Klondike Highway

Established Campground

Tatchun Lake sits tucked off the Klondike Highway roughly halfway between Carmacks and Pelly Crossing — a legitimate mid-route stop for rigs running north toward Dawson or staging for the Dalton Range and Pelly Crossing area trails. The campground is a Government of Yukon territorial site with pit toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. Lake access is good, and the fishing for pike and lake trout is worth the stop. Expect a quieter crowd than the more-traveled spots near Carmacks.

Access is straightforward off the paved Klondike Highway. The short access road is suitable for any rig. Open late May through early September. No hookups, no showers — bring what you need. Water from the lake should be treated.

Mid-Klondike lake camp, pike and silence.
