Yukon River — Moose Creek Territorial Campground
Moose Creek Territorial Campground sits on the east bank of the Yukon River roughly halfway between Whitehorse and Carmacks on the Klondike Highway. It’s a designated Yukon Government campground with basic facilities: outhouses, fire pits, picnic tables, and direct river access. The site is shaded by spruce and poplar, and the Yukon River here runs wide and quiet. Not a party spot — this is a working overnight stop for people putting miles on the Klondike corridor.
Access is straightforward off the Klondike Highway — paved to the turnoff, short gravel spur to the sites. Season runs roughly late May through September. No hookups, no showers. Water from the river needs treatment. Moose Creek itself offers fair fishing. Cell service is essentially nonexistent. Fill up in Whitehorse or Carmacks before arriving.
