Ethel Lake Territorial Campground — Silver Trail
Ethel Lake Territorial Campground is parked right off the Silver Trail between Mayo and Keno City — which makes it the logical overnight for anyone working the Keno Hill summit road, the Mayo to Minto Lake mining plateau, or the Stewart River confluence routes. The lake itself is a genuine beauty: calm, reflective, surrounded by boreal forest. The campground has fire rings, pit toilets, and a boat launch. Expect good fishing and solid solitude most nights outside of the July peak.
The Silver Trail (Highway 11) is paved to Mayo and gravel the rest of the way — any vehicle can reach this camp. No hookups, no showers, hand-pump water on-site in season. Cell service is essentially zero out here. Stock up on fuel and groceries in Mayo, roughly 20 km back down the road, before committing to the Keno run.
