Dawson City — Midnight Dome Summit Viewpoint
Midnight Dome sits at roughly 2,900 feet above Dawson City and gives you one of the most arresting views in the Yukon. From the top you see the full Yukon River valley, the Klondike River confluence, and the vast boreal plateau stretching toward the Dempster. Every overlander staging out of Dawson before hitting the Dempster Highway or running the Livingstone Creek mining roads should make this stop — it puts the scale of what you’re about to drive into sharp relief. There’s a signed pullout and interpretive panel at the summit.
The road to the dome (Dome Road) is paved partway, then gravel — manageable by any high-clearance vehicle. Best at midnight sun in June or July when the light is unreal. Snow can linger at the top well into May. No services at the top.
Yukon in every direction from 2,900 feet.
