Spruce Lake Protected Area — Relay Creek Recreation Site
Relay Creek Rec Site sits right on the FSR corridor that funnels overlanders and horse parties into the South Chilcotin Mountains Protected Area. It’s a classic BC Forest Service setup — cleared pads among pines, a fire ring or two, a pit toilet, and the creek nearby for stock water. Space for a handful of rigs, more if you’re willing to pull tight. Gets busy on summer weekends when the Spruce Lake and Tyaughton Creek crowd rolls through, so arrive Thursday if you want a pad.
Access is via Relay Creek FSR off the Gold Bridge–Goldbridge corridor. High-clearance recommended; the road has some loose rock and occasional washboard. Snow can linger into June at elevation. No cell service out here — sort your plans in Gold Bridge before you head in.
Gateway camp to the South Chilcotin wilds.
