Tyhee Lake Provincial Park Campground — Burns Lake Corridor

Established Campground

Tyhee Lake Provincial Park sits about 8 km east of Smithers off Highway 16, offering a developed campground with flush toilets, fire rings, and decent-sized sites that handle a truck and trailer without drama. The lake is warm enough to swim in summer, and the campground doesn’t get the crush of traffic you’d see at bigger BC Parks destinations. It’s a legitimate overnight before or after pushing the Babine Mountains FSR or the Tchesinkut Lake corridor out of Burns Lake.

The campground is managed by BC Parks and typically operates May through October. Reservations are available through Discover Camping but walk-ins often find spots mid-week. Cell signal is spotty at best — sort your maps and comms in Smithers before rolling in. Road into the park is paved; no clearance issues getting in.

Solid basecamp off Highway 16 near Smithers.
