Smithers sits at the intersection of Highway 16 and the jumping-off points for Babine Mountains Provincial Park, the Cronin Creek backcountry, and the long runs northwest toward Hazelton and Kispiox. This Petro-Canada on Main Street is the practical fuel anchor in town — gas, diesel, convenience store basics, and enough cell signal to download maps or make a final call before heading up the FSR network. Town has a grocery store and hardware store within a few blocks if you need to stock up properly.

The station handles heavy rigs without issue. Smithers is a real working town — not a resort — so prices are reasonable and nobody gives you grief for showing up dusty. If you’re headed to Babine Mountains FSR or the Cronin Creek summit route, top up here and carry a spare can. Fuel gaps up those corridors are real.
