Similkameen River — Bromley Rock Provincial Park Viewpoint
Bromley Rock Provincial Park punches above its weight — a narrow canyon where the Similkameen cuts through granite, with a well-known cliff-jumping spot and one of the most photogenic river bends in the southern BC interior. It’s a day-use and picnic area with toilets, and it’s busy on summer weekends with locals, but catch it on a weekday and you’ll have the rocks nearly to yourself. Water in the Similkameen runs cold and clear off snowmelt.
Located on Highway 3 about 11 km east of Princeton — makes it a natural decompression stop between runs in the Boundary Country (Conkle Lake area) and heading west toward Manning Park or Merritt. No overnight camping at the day-use area itself, but the adjacent provincial campground is separate and bookable through BC Parks. Watch for high water in spring — the lower canyon scramble gets sketchy when the river is running full.
Granite canyon, cold river, cliff jumps — Highway 3 payoff.
