Anahim Lake — Petro-Canada and General Store Resupply
Anahim Lake is a small Chilcotin community on Highway 20 and it punches above its weight as an overlanding resupply. The Petro-Canada station here has fuel including diesel, and the local general store carries basics — enough to top off food supplies before you disappear into Tweedsmuir Park South or push the Vedan Lake FSR north toward the Chilcotin Plateau. Cell signal is marginal in most of the surrounding backcountry, so sort your communications and route planning while you still have a bar or two here. The community is the hub of the Ulkatcho First Nation territory — show respect.
Highway 20 (Freedom Highway) is fully paved through Anahim Lake. It’s roughly 300 km west of Williams Lake, so this is your last confirmed fuel before Bella Coola unless you’re carrying jerry cans. Hours at the fuel station can be limited outside summer — confirm ahead during shoulder season. The drive in from the east along the Chilcotin Plateau is one of BC’s great road trip corridors in its own right.
Last fuel before Tweedsmuir — don't roll past empty.
