Shoshone National Forest Clarks Fork Dispersed Sites
A string of pullouts along the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River where you can pitch camp within earshot of moving water. Sites are scattered along Forest Road 101, with room for maybe 8-10 rigs total across multiple informal spots. Decent shade from cottonwoods, fire rings at most spots, and the creek runs clear enough for washing dishes or a quick rinse. Gets busy on summer weekends with locals but quiets down midweek.
Access via Chief Joseph Scenic Highway then Forest Road 101 — decent gravel but gets washboard after heavy use. Season runs late May through September, though early and late can be chilly. No cell service worth mentioning. Watch for flash flood potential during heavy thunderstorms.
