Seminoe Mountains Mining District Loop

The Seminoe Mountains Mining District Loop winds through one of Wyoming’s most desolate and fascinating landscapes, where uranium and copper miners once scraped a living from the high desert. The route climbs through juniper and sagebrush country past the ruins of the Miracle Mile mining camp, where concrete foundations and rusted machinery mark failed dreams of atomic-age prosperity. Bradley Peak offers commanding views of the North Platte River valley and the Snowy Range beyond, while mine adits honeycomb the hillsides with reminders of boom and bust.

This moderate route requires high-clearance and works best with 4WD for the steeper climbs, though experienced drivers can manage in dry conditions with 2WD. Spring through fall is ideal, but watch for sudden weather changes at elevation. No permits needed and dispersed camping is unlimited on public land.
