Loyalsock State Forest Mineral Spring Road Dispersed Sites
Several unmarked pull-offs along Mineral Spring Road provide basic dispersed camping in the heart of Loyalsock State Forest. The road follows an old logging grade with sites ranging from small single-rig spots to larger clearings that could handle 3-4 vehicles. Natural springs are scattered throughout the area — some seasonal, others year-round — providing decent water sources with basic filtration.
Access requires navigating 5 miles of increasingly rough forest roads from the main entrance. The final 2 miles can be challenging after rain, with loose rocks and seasonal creek crossings. No facilities whatsoever, and the area sees very little traffic outside hunting season.
