Garrett State Forest Sang Hollow Road Dispersed Area
Sang Hollow Road cuts through dense hardwood forest with about 8-10 informal camping spots spread along the first three miles. Most sites are small pull-offs that’ll fit one or two rigs, with natural clearings offering fire rings left by previous campers. The forest gets thick here — expect deep shade and that Appalachian mountain quiet. No facilities whatsoever, so pack water and plan for pack-it-out camping.
Access is via a maintained gravel road that turns to dirt after the first mile. Road stays passable for most vehicles in dry conditions, but gets muddy and rutted after heavy rain. Sites fill up during fall hunting season and peak foliage, but you’ll likely have the place to yourself most other times.
