Susquehanna River Island Dispersed Area
A small island in the Susquehanna River with 3-4 primitive camping spots accessible during low water periods. Sites feature natural fire rings and direct river access for fishing and swimming. The island provides good screening and feels remarkably isolated despite being near populated areas. Local anglers use it as a fishing camp during prime seasons.
Access requires fording a shallow channel — depth varies with river levels and season. Passenger cars can cross during dry periods but 4WD is safer during spring runoff. Check water levels before crossing and avoid during heavy rains. No facilities, and the only way off is back through the ford. Pack light and be prepared for changing conditions.
