Garner State Park Campground
Established state park campground along the crystal-clear Frio River with over 200 sites ranging from primitive tent spots to RV hookups. Towering cypress trees provide shade, and the limestone bluffs create a dramatic backdrop. Sites vary widely in size and privacy—some handle large rigs, others are tight. The river runs shallow and cold, perfect for swimming after dusty trail days.
Reservations essential, especially March-October when Texas families flood in for tubing season. Sites book months ahead. Winter offers better availability and cooler temps for exploring nearby Lost Maples or Devil’s River country. Gate closes at 10 PM.
Hill Country riverside camping on the Frio.
