Angeles National Forest Liebre Mountain Dispersed Area
Scattered sites along the ridgeline offering commanding views of the Mojave Desert below. Oak trees provide decent shade, and elevations around 5,000 feet mean cooler temperatures than the desert floor. Sites accommodate rigs up to about 30 feet on the more level spots. Fire restrictions often in effect during dry months — check current conditions. Popular with hunters in fall.
Access via Liebre Mountain Road, a winding dirt track that’s seasonally closed in winter. Road can be rough after storms but manageable with high-clearance vehicles. No water, no facilities. Gates may close December through March depending on snow conditions.
