Sproul State Forest Wykoff Run Dispersed Area
Tucked deep in Sproul State Forest, this dispersed area sits along Wykoff Run where the creek bends through a stand of hemlock and hardwoods. Three to four rigs can spread out along the old logging road that parallels the water. The creek runs year-round, providing a natural soundtrack and water source for filtering. Fire rings are established but bring your own grate — this isn’t the manicured camping most folks expect.
Access via Wykoff Run Road off Route 120, then 2.5 miles on increasingly rough forest road. High-clearance recommended for the final mile where washouts create deep ruts. Popular with hunters in fall, but you’ll likely have it to yourself spring through summer. No services, no cell signal, no problem.
