Tuscarora State Forest Blue Mountain Dispersed Sites
Scattered primitive sites along the Blue Mountain ridgeline offering expansive views west across the Susquehanna Valley. Most spots are pull-offs along old logging roads with room for 2-3 vehicles each, fire rings built from local stone, and decent wind exposure that keeps the bugs down. Total capacity maybe 8-10 vehicles spread across multiple spots. Gets busy during hunting season and fall foliage, otherwise pretty quiet.
Access via Mountain Road (SR 274) then forest roads — about 4 miles from pavement, rough dirt in places but manageable for most vehicles with decent clearance. Watch for deep ruts after heavy rain. Road can be impassable in winter due to snow and ice.
