Susquehanna State Forest Patterson Campground
Patterson Campground offers 15 primitive sites scattered through dense hemlock and oak forest along Patterson Creek. No hookups here — just fire rings, picnic tables, and vault toilets. The sites can handle medium-sized rigs, though a few require careful maneuvering around tight turns. Water is available from a hand pump near the entrance. This place stays relatively quiet except during hunting season when it becomes base camp for the local hunting crowd.
Access via Forest Road 154 involves 3 miles of maintained gravel that can get rough after heavy rains. The campground puts you at the doorstep of the Susquehannock Trail System and within striking distance of the Pine Creek Rail Trail. Open seasonally from April through October, though the access road may be gated earlier depending on conditions.
