Ruta del Cabo San Lucas Beach Hopper Circuit
Hidden Pacific coast beaches and fishing camps
This remote coastal loop threads between the Sierra de la Laguna mountains and the Pacific, connecting isolated fishing camps and surf breaks that most tourists never see. The route runs from Todos Santos south through the pueblo of Pescadero, then follows primitive tracks to beaches like Playa San Pedrito and Punta Márquez before looping back inland through rancho country. Deep sand sections at beach access points and rocky arroyo crossings demand momentum and line choice, while the constant salt spray tests both vehicle and gear protection protocols.
Moderate difficulty with challenging sand and rock combinations requiring high-clearance 4WD and recovery gear. Best tackled during dry season (November-April) when arroyos are passable and camping is comfortable. No permits needed, but water and fuel must be carried as services are sparse between Todos Santos and Cabo. The reward is pristine beaches, excellent surf, and glimpses of traditional Baja fishing culture unchanged by resort development.
