Marl Spring Historic Site
Marl Spring served as a crucial water stop for freight wagons, cavalry, and early travelers crossing the Mojave Desert in the 1800s. Stone foundations from the old stage station are still visible, along with remnants of corrals and a well house. The spring itself continues to flow seasonally, creating a small oasis of green vegetation in the otherwise stark desert landscape.
Located about 2 miles off the main Mojave Road on a decent dirt track suitable for most vehicles. The site is unmarked except for a small interpretive sign. Best visited during cooler months when the spring is most likely to be flowing. Respect the historic artifacts — take only photos.
