Saguenay River Fresh Water Source
This natural spring bubbles up from granite bedrock along the north shore of the Saguenay River, providing clean drinking water that locals have used for generations. The source flows year-round at about 2 gallons per minute, emerging from a mossy rock outcrop about 50 yards from the gravel road. A simple wooden platform and metal pipe make filling easy, though you’ll want a filter for peace of mind.
Access via rough gravel logging road requires high-clearance 2WD minimum, with some muddy sections after rain. The spring sits in a scenic clearing surrounded by old-growth boreal forest. Popular with canoeists and ATV riders during summer months. Water flow can slow during late summer drought conditions, but never completely dries up.
