Vogel State Park Beach Area
This small mountain lake sits at 2,280 feet with a sandy beach that’s rare in North Georgia’s typically rocky terrain. The water stays cold year-round thanks to mountain springs, making it a perfect rinse-off spot after running the dusty Forest Service roads around Brasstown Bald or Blood Mountain. Beach has picnic tables, restrooms, and a small boat ramp suitable for kayaks.
Beach gets packed on summer weekends but stays quiet weekdays and off-season. No motors allowed on the lake. Parking fills up fast during peak times — arrive early or come after 4 PM when day-users start clearing out.
