Slickrock BLM Dispersed Area
Scattered across acres of bare slickrock just north of Moab, this BLM dispersed area offers some of the most dramatic camping in Utah. Sites are simply wherever you can level out on the sandstone — no facilities, no shade, just you and the vast red rock landscape. Popular with mountain bikers hitting the nearby Slickrock Trail, but quieter than Sand Flats. Fire restrictions typically apply April through October.
Access via Sand Flats Road past the fee station, then follow unsigned spurs onto the slickrock. High-clearance helpful for some sites, though many are accessible to any vehicle. Gets busy on weekends and holidays. Water and supplies in Moab, 6 miles south.
