Annapurna Circuit Jeep Track
4WD access to Nepal's most famous trek
The Annapurna Circuit Jeep Track follows the legendary trekking route through Nepal’s Annapurna Conservation Area, winding from Besisahar through terraced hillsides and rhododendron forests to Manang at 3,519 meters. The technical section begins after Manang, where the road deteriorates into rocky switchbacks climbing toward Thorong Phedi base camp, with views of Annapurna II and Gangapurna glaciers filling the windshield. The track requires careful navigation through river crossings near Pisang and loose scree sections approaching Yak Kharka.
Rated Difficult due to high altitude, narrow ledges, and monsoon-damaged sections that require constant vigilance. Requires high-clearance 4WD with good approach angles, plus ACAP permits and TIMS card. Best October-November and March-May when weather is stable and passes are clear. Limited fuel available only in Manang and Muktinath. No cell service above Manang. This route offers overlanders access to one of the world’s most spectacular mountain amphitheaters, where 8,000-meter peaks dominate every horizon.
