Hardy Lake State Recreation Area
Hardy Lake sits on 741 acres of rolling hills and timber, with 147 campsites scattered around the shoreline. Most sites have electric hookups, and the primitive area offers tent-only spots for those wanting a quieter experience. The lake provides decent fishing for bass and bluegill, with a boat ramp and swimming beach. Camp store stocks basic supplies and firewood.
Located off State Road 256, it’s easily accessible via paved roads year-round. Popular with families during summer weekends, but weekdays stay relatively quiet. The park connects to several horse trails that double as hiking routes through the hardwood forest. Reservations recommended April through October.
