Versailles State Park Pioneer Youth Campground

Established Campground

This primitive camping area sits in the wooded hills of Versailles State Park, offering 25 walk-in sites scattered through mature hardwoods. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table, with vault toilets and hand-pump water nearby. The terrain is rolling to steep — typical southern Indiana topography with ravines and ridgelines.

Sites are first-come, first-served with a modest fee. The campground connects to the park’s trail system, which links to county roads leading toward the Wayne National Forest border area. Spring through fall offer the best conditions, though winter camping is allowed. Firewood available from the park office.

Primitive walk-in sites in Indiana's hilliest park.
