Burden Falls Trailhead
Burden Falls drops 100 feet through a narrow sandstone gorge, but getting there requires commitment. The marked trailhead sits on Burden Falls Road, but the ‘trail’ is actually the rocky creek bed itself — expect boulder hopping and potentially wet feet. The falls run strongest in spring and after heavy rains, turning into a mere trickle during dry summers.
The access road is rough gravel with some washouts, manageable for most vehicles but watch for low spots after storms. No facilities at the trailhead — just a small parking area and the sound of water echoing from the canyon below. This isn’t a casual walk; come prepared for scrambling and route-finding.
