Natural Bridges National Monument Campground — Cedar Mesa Dark-Sky Camp
Natural Bridges has a compact loop campground tucked into the pinyon and juniper on Cedar Mesa, a few minutes from the visitor center. It’s small, with only about 13 sites, and it’s first-come, first-served. Sites fill up early on spring and fall afternoons, so roll in with daylight to spare. No hookups, and the sites suit tents and smaller rigs better than big rolling condos. Check the current length limits before you commit a big trailer. Bring your own water and firewood plans; the park has strict rules on ground fires, so confirm what’s allowed when you arrive.
From Mexican Hat, run Highway 261 north up and over the Moki Dugway, then west on Highway 95. It’s all paved, so any vehicle gets you here. Cell signal is basically nonexistent. This was the first International Dark Sky Park on the planet, so skip the headlamp and look up. Nights get cold on the mesa even when the days run hot. Check the NPS site for current fees, site status, and any closures before you go. Have a dirty day.
