Mill Creek Spring
This natural spring flows consistently year-round from a concrete catchment box built by early ranchers. The water runs cold and clean, typically testing safe to drink though filtration is still recommended. Located about 2 miles up the Mill Creek road that branches off from the main Beef Basin route. Popular with locals and overlanders as a reliable fill-up point before heading into the needles country.
Access requires high-clearance but not 4WD in dry conditions. The spring sits in a small meadow surrounded by aspen and oak brush. No camping at the spring itself, but dispersed sites exist further up the drainage. Flow rate is steady but not fast — plan 10-15 minutes to fill a 20-gallon tank. Road can be muddy and impassable when wet.
