The Bennett Trailhead serves as the northern terminus of the 144-mile Maah Daah Hey Trail, offering parking, vault toilets, and trail information. This single-track trail winds through some of North Dakota’s most spectacular Badlands country, connecting Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s north and south units. Popular with mountain bikers and backpackers tackling sections of the route.
The trailhead sits on rough gravel about 7 miles south of Watford City. No water available, so come prepared. Trail can be muddy and impassable when wet — check conditions before heading out. Parking fills up on weekends during peak season.
